Hi there. I’m trying to lose weight and have got to the point where diet alone won’t work. I have mobility issues and need to find some exercises that I could do. Can anyone recommend any videos or other resources that can help with this please?

May I suggest that you get in touch with Slimming World. Their diet regimen is excellent and is endorsed by doctors. I struggled with weight issues for many years and since joining them I have lost over 5 stone. We have people in my group in similar situations to yours, who have lost massive amounts of weight, just by sticking to the diet. Swimming is a great form of exercise if you can do it. Your GP may be able to refer you to Slimming World for a free trial. They are a great bunch of people and you will receive all the help and support you need. You need to do a lot of exercise to compensate for a small calorie input. For sure there are other factors, but if you are disabled, how much exercise can you achieve ?
Do some by all means, for health reasons, but despite your belief that diet alone won't work, it must. It's the way wieght is lost.
You probably need to get used to smaller meals so you don't take in more than you need. Hard, but once acclimatised, and no longer craving more, things should get better. Also, probably a good idea to get professional help with putting together the diet meals in order to ensure you get sufficient nutrients from the smaller portions.

I’m also disabled and a bit overweight. I can’t emphasise how important exercise is. I go to special training twice a week which I get free from the Danish NHS, I think the advice that you go and have a talk with your doctor is excellent. Believe me they are usually over the moon when they have a patient who seriously wants to improve their health. Please don’t loose you mind set and I wish you all the luck in the world.
