We play videos of (for example) Zen Gardens (often Japanese), the soundtrack of which contains much birdsong.

Do you think this annoys our local birds - we have it on softly, but birds of course have good hearing, and the patio door is open.

Bumping this, as there's a particularly irate Blackbird outside.
No. Blackbirds are often irate and vocal.
I always know when cats are about as the blackbird is the first to let us know and the last to calm down bless him.
Do YOU notice any difference yourself allen?

Blimey ladybirder, that's a tough one. I can differentiate between robins, blackbirds, tits, etc., but knowing that one of them is annoyed listening to Japanese cousins, that's pushing it...

Well if you don't know I darned well don't allen. The only thing I can think of is that if the sound was creating interest there would be more birds around than usual listening to it. If it annoyed them they would be letting you know by kicking up a loud fuss or if it frightened them they would clear off. All that is guesswork of course and probably a load of nonsense;-))
