I am trying to find the name of a man (possibly American) who invented a manpowered running machine. This machine allows a man to reach speeds up to 60 Kilometres/hour. This machine is possibly 5 years old, there was an article in New Scientist when it was invented and has also been seen on TV. This machine is like a set of stilts with a spring pack. I was wondering if you could tell me the inventors name and if he has a website or contact address.

Sounds like a bit of a technomyth to me or a hypothetical discussion at best. One would be hard pressed to hit 60kph on a normal bicycle let alone a set or spring loaded stilts - how would one translate the vertical thrust fro the springs into horizontal motion? You can get spring loaded stilts for fun which allow you to jump 6ft+ vertically and take massive strides. There are research projects out there developing exoskeletons to enhance human performance but it is more in the load-carrying arena.
