Univeral Tv Remote

I wish to purchase a universal TV remote for my elderly mother so she doesn't have to be confused by using two remotes for her Humax PVR-9300T and Sony Bravia KD49XD8305 TV. Has anyone have any recommendations or even if there is a suitable univeral remote that would work both units, especially volume control? Currently my mother uses the Humax control for programmes and TV for volume etc. Thanks for any guidance or pointers!

surely the humax remote has a volume adjuster?

Hi aelmpvw. It does but it does not work with the Sony TV. I have researched it and its a problem common Humax. Tried all sorts of go around but none work hence another reason for a universal remote to make her life just a little easier and uncomplex.

after buying several new remotes for my humax recorder due to buttons failing to work, i bought a Total Control 4-way Universal Controller. It does the job but i wouldn't say it was easy to set up!

Happy at setting controls up, even with a bit of cursing whilst doing it, as long term it would be worth it. Cheers!
