let me rephrase my question,if u flew off barr beacon in birmingham towards scotland & ben nevis,would you clear be higher tha ben nevis?

If you mean that you flew off in a horizontal direction (that is tangentially to the vertical) and carried on in a straight line(so the earth was dropping away from you due to the curvature of the Earth) you would pass over the top of Ben Nevis by about 17.5km. Why do you want to know!?

What on earth does that mean?

No you wouldn't......Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles and is higher than any peak in england by quite a margin....to fly towards Scotland you would surely have to follow the curvature of the earth of your really heading off into space.

I thought that the question was clear the first time - i.e. the answer is that Ben Nevis is higher than Barr Beacon. But now that you have rephrased your question in a totally unclear and confusing way, I am confused as to what your question actually is. If you felt the need to rephrase your question, presumably you must have meant something other than what you asked the first time. Can you rephrase your question again, so that we know what you are talking about?
