I'm needing some help regarding my pc computer.When i click on the start button & choose internet options the egg timer comes on the screen and turns & turns but nothing happens.I have even waited up to 5 mins and still nothing.so when i click on the start button again it has frozen and most times the icons at the bottom of my taskbar have vanished.So i have to turn off my computer at the hard drive and when i switch it back on the blue screen comes on telling me i never shut the computer off the right way but because the start button was frozen there was no other way around it.Also if i do manage to click on the start button and close down my computer a box will come on the screen saying the programme is not responding and i have 3 boxes to click on Wait,End Task,Cancel.I did this afternoon go into my tools menu and chose Norton Antivirus and did a scan of my hard drive but there was no virus.Can anyone help me please

Probably not this, but have you updated Zone Alarm recently (assuming you use it)? If so, see my comments here: question 45898 .
