Downloader and converter for metacafe videos?

I would like to save some vids from metacafe to my laptop and afterwards transfer to mobile device so I am looking for a good quality downloader or recorder that will download, record from metacafe legally and preferably also convert to most common formats like mp3, mp4? Can anyone suggest a metacafe downloader or recorder and converter all in one?

Well, yeah but I think you need first of all to find a Metacafe Video Downloader that works to download and save Metacafe videos to pc, than you'll have to worry about converting the downloaded Metacafe videos from flv to whatever file format compatible with your cell phone.

I guess you could also take a look at zamzar.com to see if there's any chance it might work to download Metacafe videos. I don't watch Metacafe videos that often so I couldn't say for sure if zamzar can actually save Metcafe videos but take a look at it yourself and try it.

Thanks for your help. I have tried the Youtube downloader from Moyea to capture some metacafe videos. The tool is quite nice but I rather confusing at first. Several links from metacafe didn't even work. Could not be found at all. So i uninstalled the converter :(
I tried zamzar too. It's quite nice and the fact that I did not have to install any downloader or converter was great. Unfortunately downloads stop before ending so I could not save any metacafe files. Is there something wrong with my browser maybe? I don't know but I still haven't found the downloader and converter I need.
Any suggestions?

No, I think your browser works ok. It's just that zamzar cannot be used to download and save Metacafe videos to pc, I am pretty sure that they don't support downloading Metacafe videos at the moment.
But you don't necessarily need to install some Metacafe Video Downloader and Converter on your pc to be able to save and convert Metacafe videos to useful file formats.
Have you taken a look at mozilla add-ons for downloading online videos? I am pretty sure there might be some Metacafe Downloader add- on that could be used to download and save
Metacafe videos to pc.

If zamzar didn't work for you to download and save Metacafe videos, this doesn't mean that there aren't any other online video downloader websites you could use to download Metacafe videos to your pc.
There are actually a lot of these video downloaders, all you have to do is search for a good one. Keep in mind also that there are online video downloaders that will only download Metacafe videos as flvs, but there are also online video downloaders that can download, convert and save Metacafe Videos to avi,3gp, mp4 or whatever file format works best on your cell phone.
Take a look for example at clipnabber or benderconverter or keepvid for starters. Dunno which one works best for saving Metacafe videos so you try them.

I'm also in for using online video downloader websites to download and save Metacafe videos to pc. If you find a good flash video downloader that can save Metacafe videos without any problems you can actually skip the part with wasting your time trying to find and install an useful Metacafe Video Downloader.

Yeah...I probably should have mentioned that I use Internet Explorer and don't like mozilla at all, so I guess that the mozilla addons are out of the question from the very beginning, I didn't even try them...sorry
Tried the online video converter website to download videos from metacafe and convert. I like the website, it's the best solution till now...it has only a few formats to convert to and that's a minus, but I downloaded the metacafe very easily.
I think it could work as a metacafe downloader instead on an installed software and maybe I can find a metacafe converter...if I can't find a all-in-one solution, downloader and converter for metacafe files

Internet explorer? Well, that's a shame because one of those mozilla add-ons would have worked pretty well for you to download and save Metacafe videos to pc.
Some of those online video downloaders are indeed pretty good, although it's hard to find one that actually works to both download and convert Metacafe videos to avi, mp4, 3gp and to other such file formats. Most of them can only download Metacafe videos as flv files.
