Just viewed a 12 year old one of these, with an option to buy, it worked briefly, then battery display went to flashing on and off with no drive. Anyone got an idea as to what's wrong. Batteries charged up.

Faulty connection to battery?

At that age the battery will be well past its end of life and have a tiny fraction of their rated capacity. They will need to be replaced.
