...rather than return an item?
Several weeks ago I got 2 jars of Peppadew peppers from Amazon.
I opened one today and the lid didn't pop. It opened without the resistsnce I would have expected. It is indicated on the lid not to use if no pop. There was also a line of bubbles on the surface.
I then proceeded to open the second jar...no pop.
Amazon has a process for returns...and returning would not be worth my while. Hassle and postage among other reasons.
Is it likely I'd get a refund instead?
If the goods are faulty Amazon will accept their return and will give you a full refund; there will be no postage costs and you can choose how to return it, including having it collected from your home. Once you've decided they'll send you full instructions and labels.
I have been told by Amazon when they sent me white chocolate chips instead of plain ones, that they don't accept food back but will refund. It migh be worth going through their chat help.
You need to somehow get onto their chat facility (can’t remember how, it’s always a complete faff) and I’m sure they’ll refund you (I’ve found them to be excellent in that respect).
I know there used to be a forum or such...but I see nothing on site so far. I'll keep looking.
The money is nothing...it just annoys me getting something that is, in my eyes, not usable.
Just initiate the refund process and tick the appropriate reason . I did this recently for a jigsaw puzzle with a piece missing. They immediately said keep the puzzle and we will refund you. I doubt they want the aggro of returned food items.
