Cat With Teeth Tartar
10 Answers
The vet has said one of my cats has quite a build up of tartar on her teeth and may need a GA to remove it if it's got worse next year. I know you can get all sorts of things for dogs to bite to help but any suggestions on how to improve this with a cat? She eats pouch food, I did give her dried to help with the teeth but she got fat. Don't bother suggesting a cat tooth brush, I've got no chance !!

Had a similar report from the vet a few months ago. Tried these, and it's done the trick - and she loves them. https:// www. tesco. com/ groceries/ en- GB/ products/ 303205599

Whiskas have dental treats but I am not really convinced that a few of them a day will have much impact.
Frankie went in to get his teeth cleaned as he had plaque. He had four molars taken out (£400). It must be difficult working in such a small space.
I think the toothbrush idea is funny, even the Vet laughed when she mentioned it to me. It would be suicide to try.

It's all these "modern" foods which are the cause. When I was a youngster (1950s) we fed our cat on boiled herring straight from the local fishmonger, and had no problems with teeth (the bones doing the trick I assume). Smokey lived to a ripe old age with never a health problem. But nowadays cat-owners get seduced by modern marketing methods on what is best for darling pussy and they're hooked.
