Any suggestions to the best printer that will print photo's almost to the quality of a camera shop or kodak or places where you send away 35mm films for prints? Alternatively, is it better to upload to an internet site and pay a fee to have prints sent back to you or look for a place where you can leave your memory card and have your prints developed.

I am keen on having a printer to do all this but not sure if it will be cost effective in the long run. All suggestions welcomed.

If you're only after 6x4 prints, then check out some of the dye printers. Canon make some nice ones, but I think they're pretty much all the same. They're the same printers you'll find in shops like Jessops where you can bring in your memory card with your photos on and print them out.

Seems like it would be cheaper in the long run to have prints done somewhere like jessops. Thank you both for your answers.
