I live in a maisonette...my building is one of four. Our roofs are due to be done ...the building opposite mine is being done now. In anticipation of being done, my bedroom ceiling started leaking last Thursday...it had rained over night. I got in touch with the management company to arrange a repair. They said someone would come Tuesday morning. Fingers x'd no rain...Someone came from the roofing company to locate leak. Was it repaired? No...they would have to wait 2 weeks until the scaffolding would be moved to my building.
It rained last night...wet bedding at lunchtime. It's raining now...I expect to be soaked about 5am. I've been sleeping in spare room because of this. But I can't now because daughter and her partner are due later. I'll thrn be hoing back to London in a few days to stay with them.
Now, am I naive to think a ladder could be used to access the roof, and a temporary repair done? When told this, I asked what would be done if it was the real rainy season...October/ November? Management seems to think I expect scaffolding to be erected just for me. No...I just want a dry environment.
Sorry if this is long winded. I just wondered what others thought.
