hood for over hob

Hi, My mum is in the process of having a new kitchen designed and fitted, everything is going very well and she has finally chosen the style of kitchen, granite worktops, undermounted sinks, taps etc the only problem is the choice of hood/chimney extractor.

She had her heart set on the stainless steel look but has been shown a range of stainless steel and glass hoods - they are approximately the same price and the kitchen designer also confirms it is usually down to personal taste. However she cannot decide which she prefers - and I am no help!

She is fearful of going with her original choice of stainless steel only to be deemed oldfashioned and passe 6 months down the line.

Are there any kitchen fashionistas out there who can lend their valuable advice and restore peace to our home once more?

Both stainless steel and glass hoods are fashionable - it stands to reason they will be out of fashion as soon as the next fad arrives.

Perhaps she would be better to choose a more traditional and classical hood - that will stand the test of time.

You can get a mixture of the two which looks very contemporary.

Get one that looks right with the new kitchen. Doesn't matter if you conform to current fashions or not.
