When I go onto a particular website I often get a message that says 'A runtime error has occurred - do you wish to debug?' If you press yes, Microsoft Script Editor appears, but I am puzzled to know what is happening, why it doesn't always let me back into the site, and also why I can look at this site on a friend's computer without going through all this. Can anyone please explain?

One possibility is that you have a pop-up stopper (Google's is an excellent one BTW) and because it wants to stop a pop-up a bit of JavaScript later in the page can't run. Everything is ok, just say you don't want to debug.

As you are not a techie (I think?!) you don't need this switched on anyway. So if you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, do the following. Click on "Tools" on the menu bar, then select "Internet Options" and click on the rightmost "Advanced" tab. Look down the list of things to about number 6 and tick the box marked "Disable Script Debugging". Apply this change and hey-presto! No more annoying messages and your pop-up stopper will still be your friend.

Debugging alllows you to view the coding of the script of the windows you are trying to view then edit the bad coding. Unless you know what you are doing it is an utter watse of time. Turn it off by going to IE > Tools > Internet Optons... > Advanced then tick the "disable script debugging". Think about updating IE to IE 6.0.2 SP-1 from the Windows update page.
