Nissan Tino. Had it for 12 years. Do less than a thousand miles a year.
Insured with Direct Line. Last year £400, this year £550.
Mrs A had a very minor bash in a car park, which the other driver claimed on. So thus, in spite of protected no-claims, premium shot up. (Would have been £750 without the protected NCB!).
What do we do? Living in London, you need comprehensive insurance. Confused's cheaper end is around the £400 mark.
My Aviva insurance went up by over £100,no claims for over 10 years and one fewer driver after my OH's death, on the phone the recorded message was basically don't bother asking this year, there are no reductions to be had.
I got the exact same insurance from Direct Line for £100 less.
People who make that remark about some ones car are without doubt very jealous. May be the real problem is that by only doing less than a thousand miles a year, ones driving skills go down hill, I think they call them Sunday drivers. I'm not your pal.
As far as being jealous of other drivers' symbols of their masculinity, forget it. I've had 'flash cars', I've had old bangers, all sorts over 50-years plus motoring.
I think those blokes (mainly blokes) who spend their time polishing their shiney bits of metal are very sad.
Oh, and as a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, I'd say I could give pointers to others behind the wheel!
Yes, I'm afraid very very jealous, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Advanced motorist, what year did that take place? Raw prawn? maybe, because reading your posts @ 14.48, 14.59, 19.49, you were paying for NCP but you had no idea how it worked?
