I am new here. Glad to join the community!
There’s a Microsoft Access document that I’ve been working on for a month, most of which was written on Asus ZenBook UX305 on Windows 8. However, after the Windows 10 update, I suddenly can’t open it anymore. It gives the following message, You do not have the necessary permissions to open this object.

Is Microsoft Access still installed and working after the Windows 10 update.

Can you create NEW Access files or open other Access files apart from this one?

Also do you take regular backups? Always make sure you store a "spare" copy (or copies) on other devices like another computer or on a memory stick, or on an external hard drive, or in the cloud, or on ALL of them. You can never have too many backups.

A major Windows upgrade could lose or corrupt any file so it is important to make sure you have good recent backups of all important files.

I know nothing about Microsoft Access and I don't use Windows 10 (or, indeed, 8). However I do know that you can change the access permissions on a file via right-clicking on it.

From there, select Properties and then on the Security tab. You should then see an option to edit its permissions.
