I Was Well Impressed Today By A Primark Employee

Been out with a friend and visited the Metro centre , we were passing Primark where a young couple with a small baby were going to go in, both maskless, there was a male employer at the entrance who asked them If they had 'face coverings' they laughed and said "No, we are exempt'
Sorry but I need proof of this the employer said , he was met with an F-off and Away they went without getting in

Hi ILM , sorry didn't get back to you, my friend whose husbands funeral it was last Thursday,has had a meltdown ,bound to happen, it's our anniversary next week and just writing a card with only her name on it has had an effect so I went to hers just to hold her hand and try to reassure her ,

Well Sparkly, if my summing up of the situation is the daftest thing you've ever seen, you must miss most of the post at this site and every other site on the Internet.

If you wear a mask it can't be out of respect to other shoppers since it doesn't show any respect. Unless you go around coughing and sneezing over everyone else it can only be a token gesture possibly for virtue signalling, possibly just following the flock, or possibly unable to see or care about normal western personal freedoms bring overridden by government demand, or to make a stand presumably due to unwillingness to set an example against it using civil disobedience. I see nothing courteous about it. In fact it's quite demoralising to see my fellow UK citizens allowing themselves to be manipulated through fear of catching a virus. Willing compliance to control is not the character we have been taught is the British way.
