He resigns, for which he desired ample compensation as an elite level umpire, and everyone is happy. Personally, I think it is a disgrace that the ICC released such details - no doubt some hidden mandarin.
The disclosure by Hair that the ICC encouraged his suggestion reveals them to be, if not crawlingly pathetic, morally bankrupt - what kind of of organisation reveals JUST the offer made without placing it in the context which it was obviously discussed with them in the hopes of discrediting one of their senior employees and distancing itself from the crisis - utterly pathetic imo.
In this entire series a lot of crucial decisions have gone Englands way. Cook/Strauss and peitersen have been beneficiaries of Hairs decisions and Engloand have been able to then build big totals. In one case even Boycott was off his chair exclaiming...'how can that not be out'. So let us not have the malarkey about hair being a quiet family man well liked and thus for some reason not corrupt. he in my opinion is a bigotted individual who favours the white cricketer over asian ones. remeber he has history. He has made life miserable for many asian bowlers by calling their actions. His autobiogaphy has been blatantly anti asian. Most of his bad decisions have benfitted white players. he is a corrupt bigotted individual who should be removed from the game and cast in the dustbin of cricketing history.
