Both Mrs A and me, for different reasons, have trouble carrying in the laundry basket from the washing line. We both need two hands to use sticks/rails/whatever to keep upright.

Wheels aren't much good, as the ground/path are lumpy, not nice and smooth.

What we're thinking about is something that hangs on your back - the back being preferable, as it would mean we could still see the ground and what hazards there were!

Any ideas?

The pulley thing is the answer. Just need a builder to put up some tall poles and pulleys, but it will work.

thanks all for your suggestions.

A launderette might be simpler.
A laundrette would be further to walk, wouldn’t it?
That would depend on how near it was.
I have a tumble dryer in one of the bedrooms, I also have a clothes horse beside a window, I used to have a pulley in fact two where I lived before with my family.

Tumble dryer can shrink many clothes, pulleys after a time can stain your clothes so whilst I do have access to outside lines but with our weather - I dry clothes on the horse with a wide open window - fabulous.
JJ we are talking about a plastic outdoor washing line on a pulley, not a wooden indoor ceiling airer pulley
