Tsb Bank
16 Answers
Just learned my branch of TSB is closing in January. Not happy at all. I am on friendly terms with all the ladies who work there. So much so I rang the bank one day, no reply. But got a phone call to say they recognised my voice from answerphone and did I have a problem.
Only one bank left in the town, that is Lloyds. I have an account there too. I class that as my emergency account.
I understand I can use the Coop bank to pay in cheques for TSB.
Such bad news for Cinderford.

Shocking. If there is a lesson to be learned, it is possibly that Big Employers treat nice people in banks just as they treat horny-handed workers in shipyards, or miners coughing up coal-dust (remember miners?).
They want you? You're in. They don't? Goodnight.
Once the nice manners, the tea and biscuits are stripped away. naked capitalism doesn't give a ****. Once you've learned that, the world makes a lot more sense.

TSB are closing 164 branches by the end of next year, this was in the news a few days ago, this is in addition to 82 branches this year.
They had 536 branches at the start of this year, with all the above closed this year and next they will be down to 290 branches. No point in keeping them open if customers are not coming through the door. Its obvious that the other 290 are still viable at the moment.

I know how you feel Caran, my local bank shut fairly recently and now my nearest one is another town away, alright for me in that I drive, but not everybody does. I suspect the one in the next town will close within two years anyway. I still use cheques and cash, but find I have to use my bank card more and more now. I will only bank online if hell freezes over!! I used to love the friendly ladies who worked in my bank, all without jobs now.
