Outlook App On Android Query

My partner installed the Outlook app on her phone ages ago and until today it's opened ok and given her access to her emails.
Now when she opens it, it displays a screen showing two options. Add Account or Create Account. She wants to do neither. There's no way to get past this to simply open up the system to display your messages.
She has switched the phone off and tried to uninstall the app. No joy. Although it was installed from Google Play Store, it does not leg you uninstall it. If only lets you disable or force stop whatever that means. Any ideas? Thanks

Try adding a fictitious account and then deleting it.

I wonder is outlook just playing up - I use skype - it's coming from the outlook page on my laptop and when outlook doesn't open, I cannot open skype either - all other apps on my phone and laptop work no problem at any time, it is only the skype i need and I have this problem - I've uninstalled it and most other things apart from peg the device out the window
