can you be caught speeding at night, i dont mean by fixed cameras but by police standing at the roadside with the old laser camera thing. and before all those saddos start saying, there is speed limits for reasons and all that crap i havent been caught or think i've been caught i was just wondering. thanks
my husband got done at 6-30am in april by the mobile camera unit. and yes if they take it in their heads to do a speed watch at night, then the answer to your question will be yes.
speed limits are there for a reason you know and if you speed then you deserve to be fined.........only joking!!
My partner got caught by a mobile unit at 5:30pm on a dark winters night whilst doing 50 in a 40 limit on a dual carriageway. He normally looks out for speed cameras, but did not see this one. Most unfair!!
Cheers Sue
thanks for your answers, answered my question exactly ! i was just wondering as i've not yet seen one at night but seem to see one nearly every day nowadays.
oh yeah and sue, thats exactly the reason i was wondering if they do them or not as i always thought that they had to be clearly visable or somewhere along those lines
I think that only the permanently fixed ones have to be clearly marked, any othters that are movable, I think can just be grey or black in colour. Personally I think that all cameras should have a big flashing light on top and a sign about 300 yards before the camera, saying 'speed camera ahead'!!!!
