Surprised they managed to perform 16k tests a day. But good, the sooner all are immune, the better.
There is no reason hospitals should be swamped. We were all reliably informed that, earlier in the year, all hands were on deck to build the extra hospitals/wards/whatever. Surely we weren't lied to. If a particular hospital in a particular area is having difficulties it sounds like they are failing to transfer cases to elsewhere where the necessary resource exists. Meanwhile if an area is overproducing infections maybe a light touch of restrictions, for that area only, might be a reasonable response until the rate lowers a bit.
