Since Christmas Day the gum around my right front tooth has been red/purple. There has been a yellow tinge when I’ve ran a cotton bud over it.
I’ve been on antibiotics since Christmas Eve - it’s not because of those but I thought it may have helped heal what ever it is but alas no.
I’ve been using Mouthwash 4 times a day, it’s sore to clean my teeth but I manage well eating is fine.
The area behind my tooth (rear part of gum) is a tiny bit sore.
Do I see my dentist or my doctor as the tooth it’s self is fine. No bleeding or anything...sugars erratic (11-16) but I’m on antibiotics and my routine is upset but I’m dealing with that as best I can.
It’s not an ulcer and I’m not sure it’s an abscess- any ideas?
Probably need a different antibiotic , get it checked Monday unless you get general symptoms of infection, chills, high temp etc. If you do try a walk in centre.
Nip to Boots and get Triclosan toothpaste...it contains an antibiotic and would help.
Flucloxacillin wouldn't be my choice of an antibiotic, but carry on until Monday.
Thanks guys. The fluclox is for an infection in my foot which is healing. I’ll nip to boots on my way home as there is bigger stores than the one where I am at the moment.
