I'm sure some sort of research has been done in to this... when is the best time to end an auction on ebay?

During the day? Evening? Weekend?

My own opinion is a mid-evening end.
Very much depends on the sort of goods you are selling.

Lads gadgets - late Friday nights / saturday mornings, all day Sunday.

Kids clothes - daytime monday - to friday, term time.

Specialist/rare items in high demand - makes absolutely no difference as the collectors are searching for them.

Do a completed item search for your items and see when the highest prices were achieved.

Sunday evening imo.
It depends on what you are selling.

Kids stuff - daytime Monday to Friday during term time.

Lads gadgets - late nights and afternoon/evenings Sunday.
For most stuff, mid-week about 9pm. Best time to buy is Sunday morning.

Thanks guys... it's a mobile phone, so I guess one night this week!
When you list it, I'd recommend asking for paypal and requiring immediate payment.

I've sold two mobile phones in the past 4 weeks and both of them were bought by scammers before being sold to a reputable person. The first was re-listed and then bought by another scammer! Very annoying.
you dam right research has been done into this. by ebay no less. if you click on the link on how to sell your items it gives much advice on the times to buy and sell your goods

Oh cool, I'll go look on ebay now!!

I've sold a phone on there before & so has my fella... lots of scammers... I've now blocked certain users (not in the UK, negative feedback etc) so fingers crossed it'll be ok this time.
