Why do manufacturers bother to have three or so 'heat settings' when my wife & daughter just use it on 'FULL' ALL THE TIME??? AND of course burn them out after around six months!

I have curly hair and when I dont straighten it I use the hairdryer on a low speed/heat setting because my curls frizz if I use to high a heat/speed. So it probably depends on the style and type of their hair
For the same reason that women cant use a thermostat, they turn the heating on full for an hour then turn it off?!?!?
and then repeat the process a few hours later!!!!
The incessant noise of a hairdryer when your trying to have a lie in is worse than roadworks. I'm 'reliably' informed that they can't towel dry and reduce the time needed drying 'cos it breaks the ends..! Number 127 on the list of 'Hard to Live With'
Matheous - could it be because they want their hair to dry quicker???

Just a thought...

wilsarnie -I did ask 'Why do manufacturers bother to have three or so 'heat settings' ....why not cut the cost of manufacture and make them with only a 'red-hot' setting!

-I am, of course being sarcastic.....
I always buy a professional hairdryer from my hairdresser, the last one lasted twenty years and this one is still going strong. They are still made in the same factory in Italy ... so next time you want to replace one ask your hairdresser to get you a professional one like they use !
