I'm quite keen to start yoga and wondered if anyone knew of any good Yoga dvd's? Or anything else that might be of help. I've checked some local class times but they are mainly on when i am at work. (I live in a small town).

I just started yoga myself and I love it!  For me, I found it best to start in a class -- some of the moves, even for beginners, are intricate and you don't want to hurt yourself.  I understand that there was trouble coordinating your schedule but perhaps at least until you are more sure of the postures you could try going to at least one class to give you direction.  You will love it, I promise!
splodge - I also really enjoy Yoga, but only in a class with a mixed bag of people. I have bought Yoga videos, but don't play them very often, as it's not so much fun on your own. I would wait until you have attended classes for a while, before you decide whether to pay out for DVD's that you may not end up using. Have fun!

I bought a Yogalates (a cross between yoga and Pilates in case you didn't get that from the name!) video by Louise Solomon which is quite good, with beginner and more advanced sections.  I would agree with Litchick and Smudge though that if you could get to a class or two it would help.  That way you get familiar with the poses, whereas if you start with a video you're not really sure if you're doing everything right.

I find yoga very relaxing - I always sleep really well after my class.

I like the MTV Yoga dvd, but I think everyone else is right that you'll learn more in a class.  I've never been to one though.
Much as i dislike her, i found the Geri yoga video excellent.  Its not actually geri instructing, its Katie Appleton and it is perfect for beginners
I have been to yoga classes but can't now due to shift work. I can recommend Barbara Curry dvds as they are easy to follow, demonstrated by teachers in beginner to advanced moves and she is very uplifting and it really helps to relax you.
