my cousin does not have bank card and prefers to pay in cash for everything.

She is going to become a new granny and so has bought the pram and paraphernalia that goes with it.

She went to pay for it in cash and they wouldn't accept cash.

What went wrong there. PS - her daughter paid for it by card.

There's a BBC article on this https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54710897

The sooner folk stop panicking over cov and get a sense of proportion the sooner we can get back to normal living. No one in their right mind wants a cashless society. It's clearly fraught with personal risk.

Barry //APG, you can pay cheques in online these days. //

Not according to our local Santander bank -I actually asked them yesterday, as we have a 6-week job just starting and the guy is insisting on paying every week by cheque.

I'm paying into a Business Account so maybe that's why.
APG wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to post the cheque rather than drive to the bank?
Ladybirdy -no way - these are cheques for thousands of pounds.

Oh and you presume we are within walking distance of a post box lol! our nearest post office/box is three miles away.
