Racking My Brains

I'm trying to remember the name of a book - quite recent I think- and it was read on Book at Bedtime.
It's about a cleric / priest in a long past time who is sent on an errand to a village a long way away . He reluctantly goes and wants to make his stay there as short as possible.
But the weather turns bad and while he is there he finds a strange item.
He obviously doesn't know what it is but we know it's an Apple phone.
Very grateful for any thoughts thank you.

Just read the synopsis for that book and, as i enjoyed many of Robert Harris's novels, i have just put it on my wish list of Christmas presents for my 4 children to peruse :-)
