Someone recommended mouthwash to me several years back. I get them often.
The only DIY "treatment" for mouth ulcers that we find any use is application of tincture of myrrh....bitter but helps with pain and healing.

Excellent solution in the absence of Bonjela.
Salt water rinses.

Thanks, that’s just what I needed to know. Will start the salt water mouthwashes ... cheers, chox..
When I was a kid it was bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) that was used for mouth ulcers.
Eat more marmite! Increase your vitamin b intake to help prevent getting mouth ulcers. Sqad may disagree but it worked for me

Ugh hate marmite, wouldn’t eat it if it was the last thing on earth! I don’t get mouth ulcers very often, hardly ever really, so doubt there is an underlying health problem... but thanks for your suggestion. Cheers... chox.
Salt directly on the ulcer .stings but works
Or clove oil. Hurts for a while, then all is well.

Many thanks everyone, for all your suggestions - have gone for the salt water mouthwash option - can't stand marmite and hate the smell and taste of cloves (one reason why I was trying to avoid bonjela!). Cheers everyone ....
