I watched the first episode tonight and I'm absolutely hooked. Roll on tomorrow night for the next instalment.
Has anyone read the book upon which it is based - Burial?

I think it was a happy ending. Nathan and his wife were reconciled and had the baby they had longed for; Bob Morrow will never wake up; the policewoman knows of Nathan's involvement but 'approves' of his dispatching of Bob: Nathan has somehow got rid of the dress, and, on the advice of the policewoman, will no doubt top up his holding of Temazepam in case he's interviewed about it.
Don't think the 'ghost' of Elise in the back seat of the car was relevant.

SPOILERS!
Just finished watching this on catch up and it has more holes in the story than a string vest.
Why did Bob contact Nathan about the new housing project? If the body had been discovered, it was covered in Nathans DNA (apparently) -it would not have affected Bob at all.
If Bob was being haunted by Elise because she wanted her bones given back to the family , then this would have happened anyway when they were discovered by the Contractors -so again what was the motive for contacting Nathan?
Why did Nathan not tell his wife he as at the party in 2010?-there were 300 there For Funks Sake - he could have just said 'oh yes I remember that I was at that party, I never saw your sister, but we all had to get interviewed by the police, it was awful' What so difficult /sinister about that? Why would he think by saying that to his wife when they met that it would have 'finished them'?
The police must have found the rest of the 'bits' in the freezer at the flat. The skull in the safe looked much older than 10 years.....it got more pathetic as the episodes went on.
And to top it all off that pathetic last scene with the 'Ghost'. We laughed.....

Puzzled: Thats exactly what we said -the skull could have been anyone's. Even in 'Silent Witness' they have to let the Pathologists at the remains before they tell the victims family.
Rosie29: yes we had to keep rewinding to try and catch what they were saying but I think that's the fashion now for some reason -lots of dramas are like that (and we have good hearing we are not deaf) :-)

In my earlier post, having only watched the first 2 episodes, i used the word "improbable." I did watch the final 2 episodes and the more i watched, the more improbable the whole situation was. Right from the word go it was contrived. Knowing he did absolutely nothing wrong, why did Nathan agree to burying the body? Why, years later, did he decide to approach Holly with a view to having a relationship with her? How did both of the paramedics not notice Nathan's latex gloves when he was pretending to administer CPR? Think we were taken for a ride with that series :-/
//Why did Bob contact Nathan about the new housing project? If the body had been discovered, it was covered in Nathans DNA (apparently) -it would not have affected Bob at all.//
Bob wanted the bones repatriated and returned to the family, as he thought that was the way to stop Elise haunting him. However he wanted Nathan to take the wrap for her death.
//If Bob was being haunted by Elise because she wanted her bones given back to the family , then this would have happened anyway when they were discovered by the Contractors -so again what was the motive for contacting Nathan?//
Identifying those bones could have taken a long time. Bob said he couldn't stand the haunting for one more night. And, as I said before, he wanted Nathan to take the wrap

Because he was smitten with her and didn't want to jeopardise their relationship or torment her further... or for her to question why he contacted her in the first place.
//The police must have found the rest of the 'bits' in the freezer at the flat. The skull in the safe looked much older than 10 years.....it got more pathetic as the episodes went on.//
Nathan removed the dress from the freezer and shoved it in his pocket. There were no other "bits".
//And to top it all off that pathetic last scene with the 'Ghost'.//
The "ghost" was asleep in the back of the car, meaning she was finally at peace.
//We laughed.....//
You are easily pleased, m'dear...
If you didn't quite get the TV adaptation and couldn't fill in the innumerable holes, I wouldn't read the book if I were you ;-)
I loved it and can't wait to watch it again.
