Adding value to property
5 Answers
Will the following things have added any value to my house, which I bought about 6 months ago? Or do these sort of things not matter?
New front door - old one was brown & had to kick it to open it... new one is UPVC to match the windows
New airing cupcoard door - old one was on runners, but kept coming off
Re-decorated throughout (everything was pink!)
New carpet in master bedroom
Moved shed from ridiculous position by window - was blocking light getting in to the room
Tidied front & back gardens & painted fence

However, as they are largely cosmetic changes it may add a couple of grand rather than pots of cash. It really depends on the market in your area, and whether your house is now a serious contender in its price range.
