View the video and tell me what you think about what white/black did. I'll give my own view later.

If I'd been White I'd like to think I'd have done the honourable thing and played as if without knowledge of Black's second move.

alice postal chess is now largely defunct, players now play online. But as explained in the video it was common practice for 2 moves to be sent, eg IF F3 then D5 for example but this guy said If ANY then g7 so black was saying g7 regardless.

It's a trap I've seen used also in lightning games (1 minute for the whole game). Very annoying. But it's part of the game, I suppose.

jim did you watch the video? Black said in response to ANY do G7, not a trap more of an arrogant assumption that G7 will work against anything that white did, white took advantage of that arrogance. How can it be a trap? black did it to himself!

Yes, the order here makes it Black's fault for overlooking that Bh6 Bg7?? Bxg7 is game over, but I've seen a lot of cases where Black plays g6 (or e4 b6 which allows Ba6?? Bb7??) in lightning games when White doesn't *know* that Black will play Bg7 but guesses that it's automatic and gets lucky.

I am quite aware of how postal chess was/is played, having played it for almost 20yrs. I now play online chess and have done for the past 15-18 years. quite aware of the applicable rules on posting next/if future moves.

I still would not telegraph moves in advance! Player was an idiot or did not understand how to process next/if moves.

No, not a lightning game at all, I was just reminded of the ones I've lost in lightning this way :( Becomes handy to learn to pre-move Bh6 as black!

If Sunk does care to join chessworld let me know and I'll play him there too.

And Queen's Gambit was excellent, really enjoyed it.
