Trying To Add People To Household Contact Group On Google?

Hello,
I'm trying to add people to my household contract group so I can use Google assistant.
I've gone through the instructions
In the Google Home app
1 . Open the Google Home app .
2. At the top right, tap your account. Assistant settings.
3. Tap You. Your people.
4. Tap the person that you want to add to your household contacts. If the person isn't listed, tap Add person and follow the on-screen instructions.
Turn on Household contact.
5. Tap Save.
When you get to 4, "if the person isn't listed, tap Add person" all I get is a list of email addresses and there is no option to add anyone else - any ideas? Many thanks

Ensure that the person's email address is in your contacts list before you try to add them to your Household Contacts
