At Section 4 of the Report, the authors mentioned the reasons you gave and suggested other possible contributing factors. They wrote,
“In conclusion, we found clear evidence that patients of Black, Asian and Hispanic ethnicity are more likely to be infected with SARS-CoV-2, compared to those of White ethnicity, and a possible association of higher risk of ITU admission and death from COVID-19 in Asians, even when most confounders are adjusted for. Our findings should inform public health strategies to minimise exposure risk of SARS-CoV-2 in ethnic minority groups, by facilitating timely access to healthcare resources, and targeting the social determinants, structural racism, and occupational risk underlying inequities."

Those conclusions were widely reported in the media a few months ago when, horror of horror,the City of Leicester was taking an inordinate hit of covid by BAME.
Apart from multi generation occupation in small housing it reported that Asian workers in Asian owned sweatshops were told they would be sacked or not paid if they didn't turn up for work when they displayed symptoms of covid. It would appear,in this instance,victims of the workers fear and desperation and the Greed of the owners of these sweat shops. Some are milking this as a racist disease. Nonsense.

If BAME people are more susceptible to the virus, making what some appear to perceive to be the right politically correct noises doesn’t help them or anyone else. If they are more susceptible we need to be honest enough - and intelligent enough - to acknowledge it. Anything less is not beneficial to their health.
There have been quite a few BAME Staff who have actually accused,on camera, the NHS of racism. At the beginning of the outbreak some BAME doctors and nurses stated that when PPE was scarce and almost unavailable it was the BAME staff who were taken off their specialist wards and placed on the covid wards. I doubt this and so does my wife who worked for the NHS for 40years as a front line nurse. It is a damn insult to all the other non-BAME staff who have taken the same risks during trying times. There are plenty of other reasons,genetic,why BAME are susceptible to certain diseases and syndromes. Sickle Cell anaemia. That has long been established that BAME are much more prone to suffering this malady. It's genetic. BAME, apparently,tend to suffer other lifr threatenting problems like obesity and cholestrol, vascular disease as well as diabetes. The yanks sussed that one out and made it public before we,in the UK, were aware of the fact.

Your link says we should specifically clap NHS BAME staff who say they come here from afar to help. They actually came here to help themselves to a better life. Unison had,earlier,put out a letter that BAME NHS staff must be given a risk assessment before being deployed. Oh that every one else was afforded that privilege.In my day if you volunteered and were not up to it you were handed your cards.
