Skoda Fabia front drivers door handle broken. Something snapped when I attempted to open door. Without Google I would have no idea how to remove panel.
Years ago you just used to pull it off, made of cardboard with clips that never went back properly.
Tomorrow I shall swap the back door handle for the front one.
I don't know how I'd cope without the internet these days. Solved many problems by watching YouTube and found replacement parts for elderly tools, gadgets and gizmos including my gas boiler.
Far quicker than 'letting my fingers do the walking' and spending hours on the phone trying to explain what I want to people who haven't a clue.
YouTube can be great. I bought a water fountain for Frankie, the instructions for setting it up were in Chinese and the diagrams were totally confusing. One short video later and I had a happy cat.
The handle seems OK, ie, the cable is still attached. The problem must be the other end of the cable.
I shall take the panel off shortly to ascertain the problem.
All done, cow of a job. Used tinsnips to cut away part of the door to get access to where cable fits. It would have been a bad idea to remove outer handle and lock mechanism.
