Desperately trying to stop this thread being hijacked ...

I suppose the issue with an unrecognised govt like that of the so-called republic of Artsakh is that without international recognition and hence without a lot of scrutiny, it is prone to the crime and corruption you see in other such governments although this one does appear better than most.
On the other hand an Azeri government without consensus would struggle to rule evenhandedly

"Nationalists" covers a multitude of opinions and I fail to see why favouring some means I have to favour all of them regardless of their policies.
