Further to my post back in May about my daughter coughing up blood she had her "emergency" Endoscopy and Colonoscopy last week. She got the results yesterday and she has multiple ulcers, Gastritis and Helicobacter Pylori. She now has two different lots of antibiotics to take and antacid tablets with a folllow-up appointment in six weeks. We are both surprised as she has never had any symptoms like heartburn or indigestion but at least we now know that she is being loooked after.

Satisfactory outcome.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thats good news, may not feel it right now but totally treatable and once the Helicobacter is gone everything should settle down .
That must be such a relief to you all. Thank goodness good health is on its way to her.
Good news!
Mr.Sam had Helicobacter diagnosed 20 odd years ago, he had suffered terribly since he was about 12. The antibiotics ( then, I don't know about now) were tough, but he has never looked backed and blesses the docs who discovered it. Your daughter will be fine very soon.
good news for your daughter x
Finally, what a relief for you to finally know.
Pleased you got a better result than first thought BD hopefully the antibiotics will do their job now

Thanks all for your good wishes. Always thought she was the healthiest of all of us. Think it is just the luck of the draw as she has a really good and varied diet, walks 15-20 miles per day, has never drunk alcohol or smoked, has never had a cup of tea or coffee in her life and she ends up with ulcers. C'est la vie!
Luck of the draw indeed, BD. I was diagnosed with duodenal ulcers at about twenty. The pill I had to take for some time worked brilliantly and I've had no problems at all since. Not even slight indigestion or heartburn so I'm hoping your daughter's treatment is as successful. I'm sure it will as things have moved on so much since I was twenty!

Glad you've got answers...that's half the battle!
