Has to be the 60s, I loved my mini skirts and with 32inch legs I carried them off, same as hot pants, 70s came with tank tops and shirts with F-off collars , high waisted trousers called loons and platform shoes, what fashion was your best.....
And worst, c'mon Spill :0)))

I don't think you can beat the 1920's for stylish clothes, but of course I wasn't around then. I'm boho all the way, hippy chic, I always said I'd be a grannie with a spliff and a Kaftan calling everyone Dah-ling.

During the 70s, most of my mates were slaves of the latest trend. From Oxford Bags and tank-tops, to two-tone suits and Crombie jackets, etc, etc, etc. I could never understand why, when they spent their working hours in uniform, they all wanted to look the same as everyone else during their leisure hours?
The sixties...closely followed by the 70s.
Loved mini skirts...my favourite was choco9brown with matching tights and platform shoes...made my legs look longer. ;)
In the seventies everything was embroidered...lots of flowers on my jeans, worn with waistcoat.
Also maxie coats...I had a gorgeous black one that skimmed my ankles. My mum also made things for me including a Russian style coat like this...mine was white fake leather trimmed in black. Late 60s I attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan's clothing district...I was hoping to do fashion illustration.

Original mod talking here. 6 Weeks in Brighton in summer 1964 aged 16. Mohair suits, regimental tie with stud collar shirts( the shirt dyed with a white collar)Peter Christian chinos, original levi jeans that weighed half a stone, parkas that cost half a crown and are now selling for £1200. Full length wine colour leather coat with a vent that went to the small of my back. But it was more than that. It was an attitude, a determination not to take second best or compromise. We were the soft revolution that has been copied by every generation since but never matched. We were upwardly mobile by inclination.
