sex scenes in films

While watching the film 'Love Actually' my freind and I got onto a converstion about the scenes with Judy the pretty blonde girl and the guy who are body doubles for other actors by profession in the film. In the film, they are both naked, in sex positions and rocking so to speak. Surely the guy must get turned on? How do the actors in sex scenes deal with this?

While I'm no expert, I would have thought it'd be really difficult to get turned on with at least a dozen folks peering at you, strong studio lights burning ya backside (!) a director yelling at you and probably having to do the same scene a dozen times.

And if they do get turned on, it's only ever going to be noticable for the blokes, and i'm sure everyone concerned has seen this problem arise (pun intended) time and time again, so its no biggy (again, pun intended)

Things are usually taped out of the way and as soon as the director has his shot, people appear with bathrobes and swaddle the luvvies up to preserve their modesty.

Very often the actors involved actively dislike each other in real life.

It is not uheard of for one of them to eat garlic or smoke heavily before such scences, just to make it difficult for the co-star.

And with the director telling them exactly when and where to put their elbows, knees and everything else for the benefit of the camera, I can't see how it could be erotic for them.

Male actors are known to get boners so as previously mentioned they do get taped out of harms way if required.

they are filmed on closed sets with only essential crew members allowed to be there.

they use cups, tape, etc and also if they will be under the covers i have known them to wear about 6 pairs of undies.

as has been said they are very unsexy and controlled and i'd think most have things they think about to take their mind off it.
