Pres Trump still wielding the axe

But what is the point ?

Is there any realistic chance of the Election Result being overturned , to keep him in office?

He'll soon be but a footnote in history books, scorned by all right-thinking people as the cretin he is.
His blank-faced offspring may fantasise along with toothless hillbillys about his great deeds but the facts don't change, the man's not bright.

Covfefe.
Unfortunately, TTT, Trump was always going to do this (assuming he lost, which has happened but was clearly not inevitable). It's a shame that his supporters who do have decency and standards didn't appreciate this from the very beginning. Remember what he was saying about 2016, refusing to concede the election? Events meant it didn't come up in practice then, and the damage a candidate who refused to accept defeat could do was clearly far less serious than a poor loser in the White House can do, but the very fact that he refused to accept even the full legitimacy of that result should have spoken to the kind of man he is.

the fact is the college will vote Biden will be sworn in then Trump will be a trespasser. If they have something I wish they'd make it public, at the moment they seem to be instructing lawyers left right and centre but with apparently nothing to go on.
Indeed.
The silly thing is, as jim has alluded to, the fact that the count has taken so long ought to reassure unbiased folk that the postal votes were, actually, being dealt with honourably and fairly.
I am not a fan of postal ballots, personally: I understand why people don't like them. No doubt the Democrats made an electorally tactical decision in part to encourage them, but that doesn't seem to be anything illegal or nefarious.
Ironically just about all the states where there is contention had ballot arrangements sanctioned by local Republican officials, and to their credit, as should befit the Grand Old Party, they seem to have carried out their duties well.
Maybe it doesn't feel like "traditional" voting, but postal ballots have clearly several advantages. In general, any method of voting that increases participation and turnout should be preferred over methods that don't aid those aims.

I agree that my dislike of postal ballots is irrational, particularly as far as the US is concerned, where there is no record of any significant fraud. Plainly it does have its drawbacks as we have seen, but I indeed the more people it encourages to vote fairly, the better.
Trump's campaign appears to have actively discouraged people from voting by post. Big mistake! (as someone might have tweeted about something else!)
Any normal person would be trying to salvage some shred of dignity by now, but he's not normal, and besides which he's never had any dignity to salvage.

There are some serious lessons to be learned from this for America about how their democracy works. The fact that there are still so many high up Republicans refusing to condemn this nonsense - essentially supporting what is an attempted coup - is shameful.
I'd have thought in this day and age, we'd have voting online anyway and they'd be counted as they come in and we'd know the result 5 mins after the polls close. Yes it'd be a security challenge but that's the way forward. All this mucking about with the mail is kin ridiculous.
Estonia leads the world, or did, in online voting, but then they are a bit smaller ...
They’ve been hacked mind you at least once
I doubt if voting on line will ever be possible. There will always be whizzkids in Russia, Iran, North Korea, China or wherever who can hack into any system.
They won't let him back into the A-Team like that.

//As I have already conceded the election myself //

lol - tora , I didn't know you were part of the Trump campaign team :-)

I was watching the news yesterday about the Trump supporters , in the rust belt areas .

They certainly think ( driven by the Trump machine ) that the election was fraudulent .

They could cite no evidence , mind .
"I doubt if voting on line will ever be possible. There will always be whizzkids in Russia, Iran, North Korea, China or wherever who can hack into any system. "

There was I remember a claim that the Russians had attempted to hack into the voting machines in the US in 2016, although there was no suggestion they were successful.
The attraction of online voting is clear to people in countries which suffer from suspected electoral malpractice like ballot stuffing. But has its own risks of course.

In your *** dreams, ichi.
As General Ichi is obviously an expert on the situation in Afghanistan perhaps he could give us his overview on the number of and for how much longer he'd like to see US troops deployed there?
Why would anyone think only Democrat support would engage in nefarious postal voting fraud? Where is the logic in that.
Trump is a loser. No more to say
Very brave of you, Sqad, to make that astounding confession. :-))
What an absolutely ridiculous way of choosing a president: hold the election in early November, but allow the defeated incumbent to remain in office for a further two-and-a-half months during which time he can slash and burn to his heart's content.

Say what you like about the British system, but the Prime Minister is - literally - out the door of No 10 the next day if his/her party loses a general election.
The nightmare scenario that I've heard outlined on the Daily Show is that if the Reps can drag things out with their legal shennanigans then the result won't be certified and it would go to the House of Representatives who could declare Trump President still!
I think originally the president elect wasn't inaugurated until March or April.
The thinking was that you had to give the victor enough time to make the hazarduous journey across the nation to Washington using horse power as he battled through blizzards etc.
I think Biden can just get a train from Delaware, however
