Hi Kozmic, as you must know, Aspergers is a mild form of Autism, which my daughter has, with these people, some senses are heightened to varying degrees, and it sounds as if thats whats happened to your sisters hearing, I can't answer your question, but if you contact the National Autistic Society, they'll put you on the right track, they're used to questions like this.

I wish you, your sister and family all the best. Good luck.
I have AS & I stick cotton wool in my ears if I have to go somewhere that I know will be extra loud ..particularly if there are several things going on at the same time. It seems to dampen down the overwhelming confusion & panic that over sensitivity can course, but I can still hear enough to get by.
People just assume I've got earache!!
I also take a walkman with me for things like train rides where a million people are talking at once, people probably think I'm listening to music but I'm actually just listening to white noise!

Hi PurplePixie!!
Three questions i have to ask.Where can you buy those white noise cds? are they expensive and do they help?

Thanks in advance!
Mine aren't white noise CDs....I'm not that sophisticated, I just put it on radio & detune it until it goes fizzy.
I had another thought too, I also find that dark glasses seem to help block out the overload of sound & movement to a more bearable level.

Thank you PurplePixie.
I will suggest she trys the radio detuning and the sun glasses.

PurlpePixie You say about the glasses,I have been reading about The Irlen Institute.Link-http://www.irlen.com/ . It is for problems with reading and overload of movement.

Dont no if you have anything like that but have a look its quite intresting.
Yep, I've got Irlen lenses. They are really nice people (The Irlen people) I'v e had mine for years & wear them whenever I go somewhere a bit overwhelming or if I need to concentrate.
Question Author
Thats great.I will get in contact with them. Thanks so much again!!
