For a while now I have had a mild feeling of nausea and find it difficult to choose meals or even eat. I have to eat unfortunately as I am a Type 2 diabetic and cant go too long without food. A couple of years ago I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy and all seemed well. If the sick feeling is bad, I take Gavescon, which helps. Can anyone suggest light meals of bland food? I used to love Italian food but cant face it now. Even eggs are beginning to turn me off. TIA
Firstly I think you need to get to the bottom of your feelings of nausea. Could it be anxiety? Next, maybe buy some ready meals so you don't have to think about cooking. Macaroni cheese perhaps? Cooked chicken breast tossed with ready prepared salad leaves? Jacket potatoes with beans?
My first thought after reading your post was this anything to do with your Type 2 diabetes.
Is it well controlled, what medication are you on and are your renal (kidney) tests normal?
Thanks. I am wondering if its caused by bendroflumethiazide, my most recent pill for HBP. Its first side effect is nausea. I may stop them for a week or so to test this theory. I also take Candesartin for HBP so am not leaving myself unprotected. Thansk for food suggestions, most helpful. My bloods are tested at least yearly and kidneys all OK.
Many years ago my wife was prescribed an appetite stimulant which was a sachet of powder that she made up in to an orange flavoured drink. We can't remember what it was called but it did the trick, settled the nausea and gave her her appetite back
I had been nauseous for a while it turns out for me I have iron deficiency anemia I eat foods like cheese and crackers and I followed the brat diet bananas apples rice toast.
