192.com is the only company that forks out millions of pounds to buy up the rights to sell on information from the electoral register. Even then, the majority of voters aren't listed anyway because 192.com only has access to the 'open' register, not to the 'full' one, and most people now choose to have their details removed from that version of the register.
As Emmie suggests, there are 'informal' ways of searching, such as looking on Facebook but there is no other site with details of names and addresses.

I put the name in 192 of someone I went to school with over fifty years ago and got six "hits" which gave areas and first part of a postcode but not addresses. I then Googled their name and the first area and part postcode. I found that the first one I tried was on a committee which printed contact numbers and emails. I did not ring but sent an email to see if it was the right person. I was lucky as it only took about ten minutes and I got the right person at the first try and we are now in touch. Have tried another couple of names and not been successful so it is a bit hit and miss. Easier trying to trace a man as female schoolfriends have mostly changed surnames, in some cases more that once. Try Googling both names and areas just in case they moved to somewhere in the same area.
