Many years ago when I was small, my Mum would go to the corner shop and ask for two rings off the butter barrel, she'd put one inside another then wrap green and red crimped crepe paper around it , then hang baubles from it, this would be in the middle of our ceiling ,When paper decorations went from corner to centre , was basic but we loved it, a small artificial tree, no lights then, nothing so elaborate as we have today
Bobbs, I had a black doll one Christmas and I called her Susan ! An Aunt of mine made some clothes for her as a Christmas present and I used to push her proudly around in a little pink push chair. I was so proud of that doll. Mum kept her and I believe she's still at their house, where my brother lives now.
I do ,also Embassy coupons when I smoked, I remember buying a slide and a swing for my daughter with them, Gosh I must have been a heavy smoker almost 50 years ago haha
Kensitas were the first cigarettes with coupons. When Embassy was launched with coupons it quickly became a market leader. They were followed by Player's No. 6 and Sovereign, all with coupons. Illegal now, of course.
No Bobbs, not sorted yet. Think it's a problem with my computer, got other issues as well. Supposed to be meeting brother later so he can take it home and have a look at it for me (he always sorts my computer problems out), but this morning one of my front crowns fell out and you should see the state of me, just a point where my tooth used to be !! Hope I can get in at the dentist, but I'm not very hopeful. Going to try and ring in a minute. Never rains but it pours !
Just been chatting to my daughter on the phone,we were actually talking about tradition and how it's carried forward, I do what my Mam did and she does what I do, like cleaning the house from top to bottom on Christmas Eve ,stripping and changing the beds etc, putting all kinds of goodies around like After 8s and nuts and a tin of Roses , making sure the fruit bowl is full , has to be Mac red apples, they're the bright shiny ones :0)))
