For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.has it got a bit of "trunk" at the bottom? get a proper earthenware flowerpot, fill it with sand or tightly packed earth and stab in the spike. Even better would be plaster of paris or air dry clay both available online plug the pot hole, fill the pot with it, stab in the tree and support it so it stays straight if needed and let it set. I have got one I did 30 years ago and its still solid
