God parents?

I was just wondering how any of you guys and gals chose your childs/childrens go parents?

I havent got kids yet but I like to be informed of how I should base my decision?

In the event of the worst happening (ie, both you and your partner die), who would you entrust with bringing up your child?

Oh I understand the concept I just think it must be a hard thing to decide. Who did you choose? And why?

My best mate. My brother wasn't best pleased with this, but then he's out on the razz EVERY night and I couldn't trust him to take on the responsibility. I also chose my mate because he shares very similar opinions and values as me.

Yeah, he got to be best man at my wedding so he knows I value him as a brother.

ive chosen my best friend & my brother.

My best friend because i know she would take great care of my children and also has the same values & opinions as me, and has been my rock throughout my life.

My brother, even though he is only 21, i know he would make my children his responsibility and he does have a good head on his shoulders should he need to use it.. lol

Actually, the role of a godparent is to ensure the children are raised knowing about, and believing in their faith! For godparents to raise children in the event of something happening to their parents, something more legal would have to be put in place - it's not an automatic right.
