Thanks to all who tried to help me get back into my Facebook and Messenger accounts after 5 weeks’ abstinence/
banishment.
Especially Ellipsis xx
Ooh what a palava...
I’m now back on line to once again sort out the wheat from the chaff. Mostly chaff, cats and ads, but it’s nice catching up on the wheat x

Ages ago, an online (Ukrainian) friend of mine invited me to view her photos on Facebook. I looked through a few of them but then got a message saying that I'd have to sign up to Facebook in order to see any more. So, even though I have no great interest in Facebook, I joined the site and returning to looking through my friend's photo albums. A short while later I got another message, this time telling me that my account was being suspended due to "suspicious activity".
Since then I've confirmed my ID with Facebook (e.g. by sending a scan of passport) several times and sent several messages to FB's admin. Everything has simply been ignored, so I still can't use Facebook!

Buenchico: I sent my driving licence id about 5 times. I tried multiple ways.
FB admin after 4 weeks sent me an email to say they had noticed I had been having problems & sent a link to recover my account. It didn’t work (for the phone number problem I am now aware of).
I remained persistent until eventually they sent me a password of their own making.
It stumped my partner whose career is in computer coding & software design. He lost patience weeks ago, but I’m not a quitter !!

I am on Facebook, not known to you. I don't like Facebook but have family all over the world who do like it, so it's a good way to keep in touch with them. And I have local family who are completely technically incompetent, so I'm always having to help them out.
Incidentally, Chris, from recent experience I know that you can no longer open a Messenger account without creating a Facebook account, even though that used to be possible ...
