Togo, having had the vac won't change what people have to do in the way of precautions either at work, complying with work rules, or outside of work complying with national requirements.

Woof, I'm sure that having or not having the vaccine will not change what people have to do regarding "precautions", for now. How could it if the anti vaxxers are anonymous anyway. Problem is Woof, the precautions taken in hospitals appear to have been ineffectual in the extreme. The numbers of people who have been infected in hospital, by staff or other patients is a disgrace. Now you believe that it is ok to blithely accept that "some" hospital workers will not take the precaution of having the vaccine, but that's OK cos the other precautions are cushty. Not so. When I look at the measures taken by High St businesses, restaurants, pubs, and shops then compare them with the precautions that are an accepted norm in our health service I can only contend that we would have been better off shutting the hospitals and leaving the pubs open.

Togo, many people contracted covid from hospital originally. Things have changed since, thankfully.
Any NHS staff will have to use their usual PPE, whether they are "anti-vaxxers" or not. My advice would be, to have it yourself when you can, and not rely on other people to x

Oh I will, and I don't, even without your "advice". How do I avoid anti vaxxers in places that I need, or want, to visit if I don't know who they are? Do I just make assuptions ... like yourself, I suppose, or will that leave me open to criticism. It's time like this when we all need the knowledgeable front line worker to speak up. Someone like Chilldoubt would be able to give us proper facts and not just politically motivated opinions I bet.

I am not sure what the issue particularly is with anti vaxxers in the NHS. It will be a loooooong time before all NHS staff will have had both doses of the vac and un vacc'ed staff will all pose the same risk to patients regardless of why they are unvacc'ed.

That's a relief ... Wrong, but it must make you feel better to say it. It makes a difference because the anti vaxxer is more likely to carry the virus than someone who has had the vaccine. This will apply everywhere. Including and particularly hospitals.

Sighh. Asking the "wrong" questions has become stirring, but giving the wrong answers is a right to an opinion. One that is bought and paid for maybe but an opinion. I hope that the anti vaxxers meet lots of people like themselves and keep well away from me. All I need now is the ability to identify them. I know that most of the halitosis riven, scrawny, weird the beards, and shrew faced harridans are probably best avoided anyway but who are the others to avoid?

Not really, Togo. It's quite possible you might be entitled to a vaccine before others. In any case, once you have had yours, that is all you can do.
The "stirring" wasn't a question... just about bringing up an ex-ABer. OK, he made a mistake. Leave him alone, we have all done that, I expect. No need to keep embarrassing someone.

I think you need to define the term "anti vaxxer" especially with regard to Covid vaccines. Many people, myslef included are happy taking vaccines (I have my annual flu jab), but do have concerns on how fast these drugs have been developed/tested. In addition some of us have issues with rolling out the Pfizer due to the way it works. That is not anti vax but many on here seem only too willing to label it as such.

As for BAME people I am sure there are a variety of reasons. I would view this survey with some scepticism though - as I do all surverys.

Togo, there is no functional difference between someone who has decided not to have the vaccine and someone who hasn't had it yet. If you are going to avoid all unvaccinated people then you are in for a long period of self isolation.

There is however probably a difference in attitude to their personal habits when it comes to safe practice and due caution. As stated I am happy to keep well away from these people, and would prefer that they were identifiable. That is particularly so when it comes to hospital staff. Or do I just have to guess?
