It appears for once some supermarkets have decided to close on boxing day, Asda being the main one so far, makes sense to me giving staff more than one day off.
So the question for ABs is do you ever feel the need to food shop again on boxing day, or for anything else come to that. Shut or open, whats you're choice??

Closed. Like it used to be years ago. Everything closed down for about a week. Then we went off to the January sales. Somewhere along the way Boxing Day became the Sales day so it will be nice to revert back and at least get a couple of days break.

I remember when the sales started first Jan. I'm not that old, but then as far as I remember shops closed early Christmas Eve and were closed Christmas Day and Boxing day and if the 27 th was a Sunday they were closed then too. Then the sales moved to 27th then Boxing day. Online sales start on Christmas day for those desperate to spend their Christmas money, well they have started already in case we weren't desperate to throw money down the drain on bought in that and stuff they couldn't shift.
I hated half day trading on a Wednesday when I worked in retail, such a faff getting ready and into town for a few hours.

I recall Boxing Day being popular for forgotten batteries and the return of toys that failed in their promise.
All the extra work they had to do with some people panic buying, and all the work they've done since plus the horrendous run up to Christmas, they deserve two days off.
most seem to agree that the closing of BD is a good thing.
as many seem to do their shopping on line these days perhaps the days of shopping in the high street are numbered

one doesn't have to go shopping on BD, some do because they may have worked right up until Christmas
Thank you for BA
Up to the shop. Many people don't celebrate Christmas, and would rather have the extra extra pay.
Use the fridge. Use the freezer. Use the cupboards. Can't people buy enough food for two days?
